Special Projects

These are typically long term projects in the public sector that integrate urban infrastructure planning and development with meaningful community participation. Comprehensive Language Services (CLS) was actively involved from 1998 – 2014 with Sound Transit’s Link Light Rail Program.

CLS identified the profile of languages encountered in communities along the proposed Light Rail service routes and translated program outreach materials in multiple languages for distribution to these communities. CLS also provided linguists to interpret during public meetings and also during one-on-one meetings with business owners and homeowners during negotiations for acquisition of property within the designated rail routes.

CLS provided language services during every major aspect of the program from public outreach, property acquisition, business relocation, document translations, website translations and updating, engineering design, construction, testing, voice-over recordings of instructions for ticket vending machines and finally operation of the Link Light Rail system.

Our team of translators, interpreters, proofreaders / editors, cultural outreach specialists and project managers bring over 18 years working experience on special projects.  Following are listings of several other special projects that retained CLS language support services.
